E-commerce Experience

A storefront for a specialist retailer with a wide catalogue. This is self-initiated concept work that shows how we approach the problem. It is not a client project.

GoalMore visits that reach checkout

Wireframe-level view of the main screen.

Challenge

A big catalogue is hard to narrow.

Shoppers who cannot narrow a large catalogue quickly leave before they reach a product page.

Strategy

Invest where the decision is made.

Search, filtering, and product pages get the attention. That is where the purchase is decided.

UX direction

Filters that stay put, a checkout that stays short.

Filters remain visible, product pages answer the common questions, and checkout asks only for what it needs.

Interface & features

Four parts, each with one job.

01

Faceted search

Shoppers narrow thousands of products in a few taps.

02

Product comparison

Side-by-side detail for the choices people hesitate over.

03

Guest checkout

No account required to pay.

04

Saved carts

Shoppers who leave can pick up where they stopped.

Expected business outcome

A higher share of visits that reach checkout, and fewer abandoned carts.

An intended outcome for a concept, not a measured result.
